A woman was arrested for allegedly falling asleep behind the wheel at a drive thru in Godfrey, Illinois.

The Madison County Police Department said around 10 p.m. Saturday a deputy responded to the Hardee’s Restaurant located at 2720 Godfrey Road for a report of a female that appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle in the drive thru.

The driver was identified as 53-year-old Janice Lyles.

Lyles displayed obvious signs of being under the influence of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. 

Lyles was placed under arrest and transported to the Madison County Jail.  Lyles was issued a traffic citation for driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

Lyles was held on a $100 cash bond.
